It is estimated that 30 - 40% of children with permanent hearing loss also have other conditions and disabilities.^1,2 In many cases the hearing loss or deafness can disguise symptoms and delay diagnosis of other conditions.

Most conditions will fall under the following categories:

• hereditary deafness
• prematurity
• meningitis
• vision
