Physical, Developmental & Other Disabilities Accompanied by Hearing Loss

It is estimated that 30 - 40% of children with permanent hearing loss also have other conditions and disabilities.1,2 In many cases the hearing loss or deafness can disguise symptoms and delay diagnosis of other conditions.

Most conditions will fall under the following categories:

  • hereditary deafness
  • prematurity
  • meningitis
  • vision
